Bisma Anwar is a licensed therapist with over a decade of experience helping individuals navigate life’s challenges and work toward emotional well-being. Her professional journey includes roles in hospitals, nonprofits, mental health clinics, and digital health platforms like Talkspace. These diverse experiences have shaped her adaptable approach to therapy, enabling her to meet the unique needs of each client.

She holds a Master of Education and a Master of Arts in Psychological Counseling from Teachers College, Columbia University, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with High Honors from Queens College, CUNY. Bisma’s education, combined with her extensive professional experience, allows her to offer a therapeutic approach that is both evidence-based and sensitive to cultural nuances.

As a Muslim therapist, Bisma provides culturally responsive care that aligns with her clients’ values and experiences. Bisma Anwar’s work in mental health extends beyond individual therapy. As the co-founder of Moxie Living Retreats, she helps women reconnect with their mental and physical well-being through immersive wellness experiences designed to inspire growth and meaningful change.

She also serves on the board of The Heal Collective, working to make mental health resources more accessible for BIPOC communities. In addition, Bisma leads Talkspace’s Council of Mental Health Experts, where she contributes to the advancement of online therapy solutions and works to expand access to care.
